Generational Sin Prayer

When the Lord highlights a sin that has been passed down through your family line, use the prayer below to be free of its influence in your life.

The Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I repent for the generational sin of ____ on behalf of all my generations on my father’s side and on my mother’s side all the way back to Adam.

I confess, repent and renounce this sin in my own life.

​

Father, please forgive me, and I purpose and choose to forgive my parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great grandparents for handing down this heritage of sin to me.  I cancel their debts and obligations to me.  They owe me nothing.  And I forgive and release myself and my future generations from this sin.

​

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by the power of His blood, I cancel all of satan’s power and authority, programming and assignment over me and my future generations.  I command all the tormentors and unclean spirits that have been assigned to our family because of this sin to leave us now and never return. I no longer need to retain this pain.

Thank You, Heavenly Father, that the cross of Jesus Christ is between me and ______   and that this has all stopped at the cross in Jesus’ name.  We have been cleansed with the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and every right of the demonic has been removed from me and my future generations. The yoke of bondage has been broken. It is finished.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the freedom from this sin. Holy Spirit, heal me and my family and tell me Your truth.
