My Daughter, Take My Hand and Follow Me

Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

Jesus said in John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Matthew 4:19 Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

Mark 10:21,22 Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me." But he was sad at this word, and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

Jesus said in Luke 6:22,23 Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man's sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets.

Jesus said in John12:26 If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

1John 2:5,6 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Thank You Heavenly Father

Your love, the love of Jesus Christ and the power of Your Holy Spirit will always lead me to follow Jesus.

There was an incredibly special man who followed Jesus. He was Stephen. Acts Chapters 6 and 7 do not tell us much about his history, but it does tell us a lot about his character.

Stephen was full of faith and power, and did great wonders and signs among the people. He was just like Jesus.

The Jewish rulers could not resist the wisdom and the Spirit by which Stephen spoke. He was just like Jesus.

The Jewish rulers secretly induced men to speak lies about Stephen. He was just like Jesus.

When Stephen was being stoned, he called out to God and said “Lord, do not charge them with this sin.”

He was just like Jesus.

Devout men carried Stephen to his burial place and made great lamentation over him. He was just like Jesus.

Stephen laid down his life to follow the will of Jesus just like Jesus did when He laid down His life to follow the will of His Heavenly Father.

God is showing you, my Daughter, how to follow Jesus in Ephesians 5:1,2:

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
