My Daughter, Take My Hand, for I am Moved with Compassion

Matthew 9:36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

Matthew 15:32 Now Jesus called His disciples to Himself and said, "I have compassion on the multitude, because they have now continued with Me three days and have nothing to eat. And I do not want to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way."

Mark 6:34 And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.

Mark 1:40-42 Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, "If You are willing, You can make me clean." Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.

Luke 7:12-15 And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, "Do not weep." Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, "Young man, I say to you, arise." So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.

Mark 5:18,19 And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, "Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you."

Thank You Heavenly Father

Your love, the love of Jesus Christ and the power of Your Holy Spirit will always move me to compassion.

Compassion originates from a heart of love and ends in an attitude and/or an action toward others. When Jesus saw a need in people, He always wanted to replace that need with His provision. He asks you and I to do the same today.

If you want to know who the Father wants us to show compassion to, just look at Isaiah 61:1-4.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD was upon Jesus and He was anointed to preach, heal, comfort and restore. Jesus preached good tidings to the poor and proclaimed liberty to the captives. Jesus healed the brokenhearted and opened the prison to those who are bound. Jesus comforted and consoled all who mourn. Then Jesus restored beauty to those in ashes. He poured the oil of joy over their mourning. He placed the garment of praise on their spirit of heaviness.

Jesus wants you to have the same compassion for others. Only with the power of the Holy Spirit will you know who, in His timing, needs to hear His gospel, needs His physical and spiritual deliverance, His love and His restoration.

Colossians 3:12 counsels you, my Daughter, on how to be compassionate:

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; . . .
