My Daughter, Take My Hand, I Came to Fulfill the Law

Jesus said in Matthew 5:17,18 Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.

Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Galatians 3:11-13 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for "THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH." Yet the law is not of faith, but "THE MAN WHO DOES THEM SHALL LIVE BY THEM." Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "CURSED IS EVERYONE WHO HANGS ON A TREE") . . .

Galatians 3:24  Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Romans 8:3,4 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

2Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law.

Thank You Heavenly Father

Your love, the love of Jesus Christ and the power of Your Holy Spirit will always help me to live by faith.

Have you ever wondered why God gave Moses the Old Testament Law, which had over 600 commandments, while knowing that mankind would never be able to obey it fully?

Before you can know why God gave us the Law, you must remember that God is always motivated by His love for His children and by His goodness. He wants you to be with Him forever.

The Law was not given only to point out how our actions failed to obey the commands of God. I believe the main purpose was to point us to the fact that we cannot achieve righteous standing with the Father by our own work. Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way you can have right-standing with the Father.

The Law defines our sin, so we can see why Jesus had to come to be the perfect sacrifice and accomplished what man could never accomplish.

The Blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross stands between us and our sin. Jesus Christ took our sins on His body so you could be the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.

Because of what Jesus Christ did for you, your relationship with your Heavenly Father can be restored and your eternal destiny assured.

This is your hope and your rest. God is Love.

From the Book of Genesis and all through the books of the Prophets, God promised to send the Redeemer who we now know is Jesus Christ. Even though Jesus’ ministry was initially focused on the Jewish people, He came for us all.

Jesus tells us in John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,

that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

My Daughter, I pray you see with your eyes and know in your heart that everything that God did, and everything He still does, is from His heart of love for you.
