My Daughter, Take My Hand and Pray With Faith

James 5:13-16 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Matthew 21:21,22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

James 1:5,6 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

Psalm 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me."

Romans 4:20,21 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

Thank You Heavenly Father

Your love, the love of Jesus Christ and the power of Your Holy Spirit will always enable me to pray in faith.

When God tells you to pray, He is giving you the opportunity to partner with Him in what He wants to do in your life, your situation or in the lives of others. He initiates your desire to pray, He shows you what to pray and He brings the results of your praying.

The power behind your prayers does not come from what you say, how you pray, or how many times you pray. The power behind your prayers come from the Dunamis power of God. If He directs your prayers, you should expect He will bring His results because of every promise He has spoken to you in His Word. It will be according to His perfect will and timing.

Your faith plays a big part in your prayers. You can pray in faith with words of joy or tears. Don’t be afraid to be transparent before God.

A great example of a women who prayed many years for a child, before God gave her a son, is Hannah. You can read her story in 1Samuel chapters 1 & 2.

Hannah’s husband also had another wife who had many children. Hannah not only had to endure the hardship of being childless, but she also had to endure the hurtful words from the other wife. Even her husband asked her if he wasn’t enough for her to be happy.

Every year the family would travel to the tabernacle and bring an offering. Year after year, Hannah would pray to the Lord for a child with weeping and sadness.

One year, Eli the priest saw her silently praying and weeping and thought she was drunk. When she told him why she was praying, he understood and blessed her. Hannah became pregnant soon after that.

Hannah had to wait years while enduring much from people who could not sympathize with her pain. But God in His perfect time gave Hannah a son.

The son was named Samuel and grew up to be one of God’s greatest prophets.

My Daughter, the story of Hannah can encourage you when you are waiting for an answer to your prayer.

God’s words to you in Psalm 46:10 will help you to pray with faith and wait.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
