My Daughter, Take My Hand, and Pray Words of Life

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Proverbs 12:17-19 He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit. There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health. The truthful lip shall be established forever, But a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, But perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

Matthew 17:20, 21 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind (unbelief) does not go out except by prayer and fasting."

Romans 10:9,10 . . .that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

James 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!

2Timothy 2:24-26 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

Jesus said in John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Thank You Heavenly Father

Your love, the love of Jesus Christ and the power of Your Holy Spirit will always give me the power to pray words of life.

The words you speak come from your heart. Every word you speak carries weight. The assignment of every word you speak cannot be neutral. They are sent either as a blessing or a curse.

What is important is to ask if those are the words Jesus would want you to say. Keep the following questions in mind.

Are you speaking the truth in love? Are your words fulfilling your God-given purpose and calling? Are you being led by the Holy Spirit? Is the timing yours or God’s?

You can give a word with an intention to bless a person, and they cannot receive it as such. This is their choice. That is not under your control.

This happened to the prophets, John the Baptist and Jesus to name a few.

The prophets were to share with the people what God told them to say. The prophet Jeremiah told the people that their city was going to be captured by the Babylonians, and they were to leave if they wanted to live.

The king and officials did not like those words and threw him into a cistern.

John the Baptist came to prepare the way for Jesus, telling the people to repent. When he publicly called out Herod’s sin of adultery, John was beheaded.

Jesus came as our Savior to save His people from their sins. There were those who believed Jesus and received life and there were those who did not.

When you choose to speak God’s Word, you are choosing life. When you speak life, the Holy Spirit uses your words to bring counsel and comfort to you and to others. Sometimes it just takes time for your words to be realized.

God’s Word is powerful and will not return void. God will prosper those who hear and receive His Word and believe it.

My Daughter, value His words and remember His promise to you in Job 22:28:

You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you;

So light will shine on your ways.

This will take practice. Be patient and kind to yourself.
