My Daughter, Take My Hand to Keep the Unity of the Spirit in the Bond of Peace

Ephesians 4:3-6 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said to him, 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'

Jesus’ words in John 17:20,21 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness;

1Peter 3:8, 9 Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.

Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:44,45 But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.

Proverbs 25:21,22 If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the LORD will reward you.

Thank You Heavenly Father

Your love, the love of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit will always lead me to the bond of peace.

The Unity of the Spirit is the gift of each believer toward one another and is to be pursued earnestly. We all share one body, one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all. We also share the same path that will enable us to live in unity. If you choose to take it, it is the path of love. A path laid out for you by the love of the Father through faith in His Son Jesus Christ and being led by His Holy Spirit.

Your journey began when you chose to love the Lord your God. Then He called you to love your neighbor as you love yourself.

It is easy to love God but with some people it is difficult. The fact that God still calls us to live in unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace with them must mean there is a way.

I have found the way to pursue peace with difficult people is being led by the Spirit to forgive and to not expect them to give you peace in return. Instead, choose to accept God’s peace instead of waiting for what they may never be able to give.

Be thankful for the peace God gives you, my Daughter, when you obey.

The blessings that come when you keep the unity of the Spirit are beautifully described in Psalm 133:

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore.
