The Spirit of the Lord God is Upon You

But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1John 2:27 

When Jesus went back to heaven, He knew we would need help walking out our God given purpose here on earth, so He sent His Holy Spirit to us.

The work of the Holy Spirit is to comfort us; counsel us; help us; to intercede for us and to lead us into all truth. 

We can’t physically see the Holy Spirit, but we can see the effect of His indwelling Spirit in our life and the lives of others. 

Whenever we choose to love, comfort, counsel, help, pray and find truth we know He is working through us. He is giving us the heart of the Father for ourselves and others. 

He is building us up in our spirit by enabling us to worship our Heavenly Father in spirit and in truth.

Once we become His child by accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, the next step is to ask for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

The following simple prayer to invite Him into your life can start a beautiful relationship with the Holy Spirit:

“Heavenly Father, I surrender to You completely. I recognize my need for Your power to live the Christian life. Please baptize me in Your Holy Spirit. By faith, I now receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit. In the Name of Jesus I pray.”

Now your Heavenly Father is extending His Hand to you, and when He does, He will wait for you to place your hand in His.
