Section 6 Introduction
Updated: 2 hours ago
Welcome to the Introduction to Section Six, where you will learn how to follow Jesus.
Jesus said in John 14:1-6:
"Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know." Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?" Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
Before you decide to follow someone, you must know them and trust them.
Before Jesus told the soon-to-be disciples to follow Him, He revealed Himself as Lord over creation by miraculously filling their nets with a huge catch of fish.
The soon-to-be disciples immediately put their faith in Jesus as the Messiah because they saw Him do something only God could do.
When you put your faith in Jesus, you can hear His voice telling you who you are. This may be so astounding to you because it will be exactly opposite of the many lies that you have heard from people and the world.
When you follow Jesus, you will know who He is and who you are in Him.
The first thing He wants you to know about Him is that He loves you.
Once you believe that, and put your faith in Jesus, you will hear His voice telling you to follow Him, and you will obey.
Jesus is telling you that with Him you can live a life that honors and blesses Him, others, and yourself.
You can always ask Him for the way to go, and He will always direct you to the way to follow Him.
God has extended His Hand to you, and He will wait for you to place your hand in His.
